Winter Wind

Blow, blow, thou winter wind
Thou art not so unkind,
As man's ingratitude.
William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616)

The wind is fiercely blowing out side
making one want to stay inside!
Even in Florida its cold outside
thinking you should go in to hide

oops that man lost his hat what a pity?
Blustery, even making you feel jittery
it seems like the palm trees might blow over
at least there is no snow to shovel!

O Winter! ruler of the inverted year, . . . I crown thee king of intimate delights, Fireside enjoyments, home-born happiness, And all the comforts that the lowly roof Of undisturb'd Retirement, and the hours Of long uninterrupted evening, know.
William Cowper (1731 - 1800), Task (bk. IV, l. 120)

What great words by Cowper. When I was a youth I liked the name Cowper?? crazy me, not in a million years did I think I would be using a post from him in my retirement!
