Just Thoughts

poinsettia from my yard last year- the weather got to it and its no longer there!

Well folks here I am sitting not much on my mind, guess that would be considered mindless, aye!? Look at the authors of the quotes of the post today, such divergent people and ideals! With one common thread which would be peace. What is peace to you? Can we ever have peace even if only in our personnel lives? do we really want it, and should we have it?

I think that people want peace so much that one of these days government had better get out of their way and let them have it. Dwight D. Eisenhower

I'm concentrating on staying healthy, having peace, being happy, remembering what is important, taking in nature and animals, spending time reading, trying to understand the universe, where science and the spiritual meet. Joan Jett

If they want peace, nations should avoid the pin-pricks that precede cannon shots. Napoleon Bonaparte

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. Mother Teresa

It is an unfortunate fact that we can secure peace only by preparing for war. John F. Kennedy

ahhh peace - We have a whole inner government inside of us - we are the tyrant and the sheep, the bully and the victim, the taken advantage of, and the one taking advantage...on and on...

I think if we don't figure ourselves out first and come to a real genuine desire for peace it ain't happening in the world.

Hey Merry Christmas to you and yours and I hope your day is wonderful!

Ron Hutchcraft blogged about peace some years ago. He talked about a painting. He said,

"The scene was the ocean in a violent storm. The sky was ominous, the lightning was cutting across the sky, and the waves were crashing into the rock walls of the cliffs by the shore. No peace. But you had to look twice to understand what was going on. There, about halfway up the cliff, was a birds' nest, tucked into a tiny hollow in the rock. A mother bird was sitting on that nest - with her little babies, tucked underneath her, sleeping soundly. That was peace!"
