February

Sorry he has such green eyes here, but he is truly a love! Man was my hair short, didn't realise it at the time.

It's February! What types of things do you think of when you hear February!?
A short month, a nondescript month. Snow or the beginning of snow.
Days are short and so is the month.OMG a month has already passed in 2010.
Thinking of vacations.Have you given up on New Years' Resolutions yet!
The groundhog-will he see the shadow or not-who ever thought of this silly day? someone sitting around wishing winter had passed already!?

I have a paradigm shift- I really don't know what to expect in February in Florida.
The rains are coming and so are the hurricanes. The days are warm, but the nights are a bit cool. Plants are looking a little sad, but will soon be colorful again. Should I plant tomatoes?Spring training is just around the corner. When will the snow birds return to their places of origin? Guess the Canadians will be going soon.

O Winter! ruler of the inverted year, . . . I crown thee king of intimate delights, Fireside enjoyments, home-born happiness, And all the comforts that the lowly roof Of undisturb'd Retirement, and the hours Of long uninterrupted evening, know.
William Cowper (1731 - 1800), Task (bk. IV, l. 120)

Yes we have a lot of Canadians here in the winter as well, I think I've met more Canadians here in Arizona than ever when I was in Washington DC suburbs. crazy!

For me, February is a month of celebration. My birthday and Valentine's Day both fall in February, and I am usually shamelessly spoiled on those days. It also signifies the beginning of the end of winter--always a good thing in my mind, since I am a desert rat at heart--and a good time to think about what to plant in the garden. It means the lengthening of days and more sunshine, and some years it means I get to celebrate my nephew's Leap Day birthday!

It has been a strange year weather-wise everywhere. It will be interesting to see what the summer holds, no?

All I'm thinking is spring and boating. Lots of boating just like every year. I'm so tired of the cold.

My hair is about as short as yours in that picture. It stays that way too.

Have a terrific day. :)

February to me is a better month than January. January has always been dull, blah and out here in so cal, sometimes February can feel like summer, sometimes. We are expecting some storms later in the month...we need them, but I need solar power.

Valentines Day, Presidents Day (Abe and George), robins returning and the fact it stay daylight a little longer.

As for your short hair, I like it, when mine is really, really short, don't have to mess with it, except to wash and blow dry. My ideal way of doing things. LOL

Great shot with the adorable dog. I never know what to expect in February in central NC. It can be bitter cold, cool, or have some warm weather (by warm I mean high 50s and low 60s F). It tends to go back and forth. I forget FL winters when I talk about warm spells. For example some of my flowers got confused after what I was calling a warm spell but that's because for 2 weeks it didn't get above freezing and then we had a week where the highs were in the 50s and even low 60s but lows were in the 30s F. That felt warm after lows in the teens and highs barely hitting 30. I guess it's all relative. My weather would seem warm to people in colder climates but cold by Florida standards.

It's my least favorite month, so I'm thankful it's the shortest one.
