holiday??

Any one who has common sense will remember that the bewilderment's of the eyes are of two kinds, and arise from two causes, either from coming out of the light or from going into the light, which is true of the mind's eye, quite as much as of the bodily eye; and he who remembers this when he sees any one whose vision is perplexed and weak, will not be too ready to laugh; he will first ask whether that soul of man has come out of the brighter light, and is unable to see because unaccustomed to the dark, or having turned from darkness to the day is dazzled by excess of light.
Plato (427 BC - 347 BC), The Republic

I was reminded it was a holiday today, but it really wasn't for me.
I cleaned one of the closets. I mean I took everything out, rearranged , threw some stuff and put other stuff to give to Good Will. I took nothing out of the car or the darn trailer I drove down here! Am I nuts- don't answer that it was rhetorical!
We did go out to a friend's for dinner and went swimming, but it didn't seem like a holiday.
Maybe tomorrow or the next day I will have a holiday?

Just catching up. That is precisely why I got out of town for Labor Day - so I woudn't spend it cleaning or doing some other household tasks.

The dinner... was it grilled or stove-cooked? Labor Day regulation #24b states that a grill must be used in the proper celebration of this holiday. Non-grilled items may be added, but the actual meal must have at least one item which was prepared on the grill.

Swimming is a plus. :-)

You know my friends from England asked me why we celebrated Labor Day and I couldn't really give them a good response. That is sad.
