Days Gone By

Look at the tiny face looking at ya! Stolen from my daughter! I must get my pics downloaded one of these days!

This was taken last summer when the kids were visiting@ the Sponge Docks in Florida-How little they look then! Dau #1 looks burnt,Dau#2 is hardly visible, and departed Hubby looks so happy with his grandkids and kids!

"If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut."
"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."

Today is sure a hot one. Hanging clothes outside one works up a sweat! We did some yard work early before it got too hot. It's 4pm now and siesta time although I am online I can rest LOL.
Did I ever tell ya that retirement is a state of mind! It sure seems like it to me. I have done more labor since I retired than when I actually worked I think!
Update on the house selling. Bad news, I have to put in a new septic before I can sell it. Owell its just money! money??? who has that! The settlement date has changed to Sept- whenever the septic is finished. However, it passed the certificate of occupancy-can't quite get that one! Thankfully the people still really want it!
Just been told by dau#2 that that's me in the pic!?, not her, click to enlarge.

Life is so bittersweet. It just is.

I'm busier now that I'm retired too. I often wonder how I had time to work...

Hope you get the septic tank done and the house sells soon. I would guess it would be a load off.

Have a terrific day. :)

Your journal is always well written.

Speaking of 'days gone by' Summer is very short up here in Northern NH. I can already feel the autumn air coming through. I leave all the windows up in the evening. When I get up in the morning I can feel a chill in the house.

For me, it's sort of sad to look back at the "Days Gone By"

Well who ever is in the photo, it's a nice family photo. Sorry about the septic system, but good the family still wants the home. Good luck with getting it all ready for them.

Yes, not only does it seem like we work harder when retired, it seems it takes us longer to get the work done. LOL

Wait, you can't tell the difference between yourself and your daughter?

Love the color of that flower. Great shot of the family.

The Sponge Docks-- woohoo! I used to work at Louis Pappas Restaurant on Dodecanese Blvd. The restaurant has been closed for years, but I loved it there. I lived in a very small nearby community. (This was in the 70s) Thanks for bringing up a great memory.

Sorry you have to be out more money on the sale, but thank goodness the people still want it.
