A Death

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.
George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950)

Just wanted all my blogger friends to know that my husband died suddenly Sunday night. I will be posting in the future, but need to get things in proper perspective first. My family are all ok. He did not suffer

Hope the New Year finds all well, see ya when?...

I thought of him when we left the church this afternoon in the blowing snow; it was a Colorado moment. It's still windy here, but the sun is shining now.

I'm here if you need anything.

I am glad that we made it to the visitation.

You know that Rob and I are here for you and your family.

Take care of yourself

My thoughts are with you at this time! Damn, death sucks! But it's part of life, and we must continue on. What other choice do we have? Sit around and be miserable forever? I don't think Jim would want that! Remember all the good times, forget the bad, and you will get through it!

The Rose Beyond the Wall

Near a shady wall a rose once grew,
Budded and blossomed in God's free light,
Watered and fed by the morning dew,
Shedding it's sweetness day and night.

As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,
Slowly rising to loftier height,
It came to a crevice in the wall
Through which there shone a beam of light.

Onward it crept with added strength
With never a thought of fear or pride,
It followed the light through the crevice's length
And unfolded itself on the other side.

The light, the dew, the broadening view
Were found the same as they were before,
And it lost itself in beauties new,
Breathing it's fragrance more and more.

Shall claim of death cause us to grieve
And make our courage faint and fall?
Nay! Let us faith and hope receive--
The rose still grows beyond the wall,

Scattering fragrance far and wide
Just as it did in days of yore,
Just as it did on the other side,
Just as it will forevermore.

I have never visited here before, and I'm sorry for that omission. Rambling Woods was kind enough to let some other bloggers know of your loss so we could stop by and offer our sympathy. So I'm doing just that. Please know that you have friends old and new who offer you prayers and thoughts for you to cope with your loss and begin to heal.

I too heard of your loss through Michele at Rambling Woods. I took a peek at your site and am impressed with the wisdom that seems to be a part of you. I'm sure that your inner strength will carry many through this difficult time. Please know that tears moisten the eyes and hearts of many who know you, and many who have yet to make you their friend. I hope to be counted among those who wait in the wings to get to know you better.

You and your family will be mentioned in my prayers.

God's Peace!

I am so sorry at your sudden loss.
If there can be any comfort in words then know that we all of us go at the appointed time, I've had experience and was sent back three years ago and still struggle on.
The winds of change have come into your life and although strong winds can be destructive, at least they blow away the cobwebs and clear the air so you can in time see the road ahead more clearly.
I extend the hand of friendship and envelop you in a great hug.

I came via Rambling Woods as well, and wanted to add something that was passed on to me by a dear friend. Unfortunately this is the second time this particular quote has surfaced in my posts and comments recently, as
the blogging community recently lost one of its own as well, very suddenly and unexpectedly.

These words have been a real source of solace to me ta various times, and I hope they will be for you as well.

"The only way around these things is through them. So if you bury your dead, bring a shovel, if you burn them warm to the fire. Look into whatever riddance you consign them to. Lend a hand, stand and weep or watch and wonder. But stay until it's done. Keep the names of your dead alive among your people. You get one father, one mother, one true love, one life and maybe a couple of good dogs. There is no easy way to do this. So do it right: weep, laugh, watch , pray, love, live, give thanks and praise; comfort, mend, honor and remember." - Author Unknown

It would seem that there is shock, as well as loss of a loved one. One day at a time, and don't forget to eat some nutritious food even if you are not hungry. God bless you and your family and friends.
